Tom Muir – Kitchen Tools Crafted with Care
Inspired by a love of native trees and timbers, Tom Muir and Louise Armstrong create kitchen tools that are both practical and beautiful. Every piece is thoughtfully crafted to bring a touch of nature and care to everyday cooking, turning simple moments into something special.
In 2011, a ‘blessing in disguise’ led them from central Auckland to Te Miro, Waikato, where their home, workshop, and evolving garden are surrounded by hills, paddocks, and pockets of bush. Working with salvaged native timbers, they’ve honed the skills to craft implements that are a joy to hold—perfect for everyday use or as treasured heirlooms.
Honouring the beauty and history of each tree, Tom Muir designs pieces meant to be well-used, loved, and passed down through generations.
