Richard Beauchamp | Bottle Vase | Small | Sand

A hand-thrown bottle vase in a sand glaze. Made from an iron-bearing buff clay body that reveals a light speckle.

As a potter based in Waitaha, Canterbury, Aotearoa, Richard began his journey with a beginner's pottery class at Wellington Potters' Association. After self-directed learning and joining the WPA, he set up his own studio in rural Canterbury, dedicating himself to pottery full-time.

Prior to that,  he spent over a decade in the coffee industry, where he developed a deep appreciation for craft, science, and functional design at an industrial level. This experience continues to influence his ceramic practice and approach to making.
